Collecting skin

This series is a study of human skin, approaching the body as both a visual and physical surface.

The skin functions as a boundary between the inner and outer world and consists of complex layers and processes that largely remain invisible. In this collection of images, I capture different forms of skin, while in some cases estranging them through the use of light.

The experiment focuses on how skin can be perceived: as a recognizable human element, but also as an abstract form that refers to invisible scientific processes taking place within the body.
