E128

In E128, I explore the presence of complex chemical substances in our daily consumption and invite reflection on what we consume and what remains hidden.

The project is inspired by the banned red food dye E128 (Red 2G), which was used in products such as meat until 2007, when it was prohibited due to potential carcinogenic effects. Something we normally consume unconsciously is given a new intensity and significance.

Today, this also raises questions about other invisible substances we ingest daily, such as microplastics, which accumulate in food and drinking water. Like E128, these substances are almost invisible, yet they may have significant effects on our health and the environment.
