Cyanotype

Cyanotype is one of the oldest photographic techniques, in which images are created using sunlight. In this process, a light-sensitive solution is applied to paper, which reacts under UV light to produce a characteristic deep blue print. Objects or images that block the light remain light, while the rest develops into blue.

Within this experiment, I explore how form, light, and material come together in this process. By working with direct prints and the influence of light itself, the image takes on a quality that feels both photographic and tactile.
