De Bazaar
This series originated from an assignment in which five encounters had to be documented.
The images were made at the Bazaar in Beverwijk, a big market where different cultures, people, and stories come together. By approaching and photographing people, moments of contact emerge within this dynamic environment.
In addition to the portraits, I also captured details that stood out to me during these encounters, such as elements of clothing or the surrounding environment. In some images, movement is intentionally visible, emphasizing the fleeting nature of the moment.
The work explores how encounters can manifest, not only in faces, but also in small gestures and fragments of an environment.
