I see and you are
I See and You Are is a two-channel video work in which image and text unfold simultaneously. The videos are intended to be experienced side by side, forming a visual poem that explores perception and the way we construct reality through seeing.
The work originated from an encounter with someone who is almost blind—able to perceive only minimal light—yet moves through the world with a striking sense of freedom and boldness. During this project, we found common ground in photography. Both of us created images, which are brought together in the work without distinction, inviting the viewer to question which images are made by whom.
By deliberately obscuring authorship, the work questions assumptions about seeing, ability, and perception, and reflects on the subjectivity of perception. It suggests that seeing is not solely dependent on the eye, but is shaped by interpretation, imagination, and experience.
