Richard Avedon

My portraits

This series originated from a technical assignment, inspired by the portraits of Richard Avedon (upper row), in which capturing a moment or feeling is central.

For this project, I photographed my brother. Instead of directing, Avedon works with patience and observation. By waiting for a long time and not announcing the moment, images emerge in which there is no posing, but where someone simply is themselves.

This results in portraits that feel more direct and honest.
